When I tell business owners they can have a complete brand identity in one day, the first reaction is usually a mix of excitement and doubt. One day? How is that possible? And how much of my time will it take?
Fair questions. Most branding projects stretch over six to eight weeks of email threads, feedback rounds, and waiting. A Brand Design Intensive packs that work into one focused day, and it asks surprisingly little of you: about three to four hours of your time across the whole project.
Here's exactly how it works, from the day you book to the day your brand kit lands in your inbox.
3–5 days before: the brand questionnaire
Everything starts with a questionnaire. It covers your business, your customers, your competitors, and what you want people to feel when they encounter your brand.
This is the most important prep step, and it's where the "strategy first" part begins. The answers give me the foundation I'll design from, so the visuals I create are rooted in who you are and who you serve, not just what looks nice.
Tip: Answer honestly, not aspirationally. "I'm not sure" is a perfectly useful answer. It tells me where to dig.
2 days before: the virtual prep call
Next, we meet for a short virtual prep call. I'll have read your questionnaire, so this isn't a form review. It's where I ask follow-up questions, clarify anything that felt uncertain, and confirm the direction before I start designing.
By the end of the call, we're aligned on who your brand is for and what it needs to say.
The day before: the moodboard
The day before your Brand Day, I'll send a moodboard: a collection of colors, textures, type styles, and imagery that captures the direction we discussed.
All I need from you is a quick thumbs up, or a note if something feels off. This small step means there are no surprises on Brand Day, and I can design with confidence from the first hour.
Brand Day: three short check-ins
On the day itself, I'm fully dedicated to your brand. You don't need to sit with me all day. You just need to be available for three short check-ins:
Morning: I share the early direction for your logo and visual identity so you can react before I go further.
Midday: We review the developing logo suite, colors, and typography together.
End of day: I walk you through the near-final brand and we make same-day refinements.
[check: adjust these three descriptions to match what you actually cover at each check-in]
Between check-ins, you can go about your day. Run your business, take your calls, and let me do the work.
48 hours later: your brand kit arrives
Within 48 hours of Brand Day, your complete brand kit lands in your inbox, ready to use. [check: confirm this list matches what you deliver]
A logo suite with variations for different uses
Your brand color palette
Typography selections
A mini brand style guide (PDF) showing how it all works together
Final logo files in PNG, JPG, SVG, and PDF formats
Who a Brand Design Intensive is right for
The intensive works best for business owners who:
Are launching a new business or service and need a professional brand quickly
Have outgrown a DIY logo and want something that matches the quality of their work
Know who they are and who they serve, and need visuals to match
Don't have time for a months-long design process
If you're still figuring out your positioning, or you need research into your customers before you design anything, a Brand Strategy Sprint may be a better first step. I'm happy to help you decide on a quick call.
Why the intensive works
The magic isn't speed for its own sake. It's focus. When the prep work happens up front and decisions get made in real time, you skip the slow parts of a traditional project: the long gaps between rounds, the feedback that gets lost in email, and the momentum that fades over weeks.
You end up with a brand built on strategy, in a fraction of the time, with only a few hours of your own.
